After the death of her wife, Margot, Monty, a Contemporary mime, is consumed by grief and unable to perform. Pressured by her manager, Eric, she returns to the stage, where reality blurs as she sees Margot's ghost in the audience. Desperate to reconnect with her, Monty pours her sorrow into a mesmerizing performance that wins her the fame she always sought. However, as the applause swells, Monty is left with the painful realization that while she has achieved success, she has lost Margot forever.
